Building the future
5041 supports multiple FIRST Lego League Challenge teams through monetary donations, material support, and mentorship from 5041 members. Supporting Lego League robotics teams is crucial for fostering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and skills among young learners. These teams provide a dynamic platform for students to engage in hands-on, collaborative problem-solving that goes beyond traditional classroom learning.
By supporting Lego League programs in our community 5041 helps to
Encourage Early Interest in STEM
Inspire Innovation and Creativity
Promote Community Engagement and Inclusivity
Build a Foundation for More Successful Future Members of 5041
And Of Course, It's Fun!
Friendly competition is at the heart of Challenge, as teams of 3-10 students grades 4-8 engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering.
Every season, they build and program a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. They also research a themed project in which they create a novel solution to a relevant real world problem and present their solution to a panel of judges.
Through all this they learn about FIRST Lego League’s Core Values Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork, and most importantly FUN!
